A guide to Sporting Events in Lanzarote

Football - Union Deportivo Lanzarote

During the season, which kicks off in September and lasts until early May, Lanzarote play at home every other week in Arrecife Stadium.  Here's a great site run by a good friend of mine Ian Lane:

http://www.lanzarotefootball.com/

You can find information in English on forthcoming games, merchandise, ticket prices and kick off times.  You can even find his phone number on there if you require further assistance.  He's a great servant to the club and ex-pats should get their behinds to the game and support their local club instead of being sat in front of Sky Sports News on a Sunday morning.  What better way to spend your Sunday than live footy followed by Sunday Roast?!:)
It really is great fun, the locals are very passionate and whilst I'll continue to support the club, my heart is always with Bradford City so I don't get quite as emotional if Lanzarote lose.  Lol:)  It amazes me that more British and Irish ex-pats, Germans, Italians, French, Spanish, South Americans and locals don't go along to the stadium every week.  We all love our football wherever we're from and it's common knowledge that Lanzarote's financial state is unstable to say the least, so bums on seats makes money and money brings success.

FOOTBALL FANS OF EVERY NATIONALITY AND GENDER YOU HAVE NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!...

This has got to be the best photo I've ever taken!  I take a cyber bow:)

Guess Who???

It's all about the timing Mr Bailey, the timing has to be spot on:)
